Von joined Trinity | ERD as an Architect in 2004. He received his B. Architecture from the University of Oregon in 1969, and is licensed in both Washington and Oregon. For most of his career, Von was a Principal of HGE Inc, a firm of architects, engineers, surveyors and pPlanners and was Principal and President of Harlan/Miller Associates, HGE’s architectural unit. Von has been a member of the Roof Consultant's Institute for over 20 years.
In more than thirty years of experience, Von has gained expertise in a wide ranging and eclectic array of projects, including single and multi-family residential, office and administrative buildings, schools, hospitals, commercial and retail properties, and government facilities and utilities. As a member of a multi-disciplinary firm, he has always been closely involved in the engineering aspects of projects and has taken responsibility for preliminary planning, detail building and structure design, site planning and improvement design, construction drawing and specification, cost estimation and construction observation.
Von’s recent projects include the new administrative complex for the Confederated Tribes in Grand Ronde, Oregon, water and wastewater treatment plants in Manzanita and Garabaldi, a wastewater complex in Oakland, Oregon and custom residences in Oakland and Ocean City. His interest and experience in the restoration and remodeling of historic sites is exemplified by the successful relocation and restoration of the Sumpter Valley railway station in Baker City.
Von is based in Portland, Oregon.
